Home2 Suites by Hilton® Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of First Hotel Opening

Brand Commemorates Year of Milestones with Announcement of New Corporate Partnership for its Your2Hands Charity Program

MCLEAN, Va. - Home2 Suites by Hilton, the mid-tier, all-suites, extended stay brand, is celebrating one year since opening its doors, and introducing guests to its innovative "hip and humble" approach for business and leisure travelers.  In its short history, Home2 Suites has become one of the leaders in the mid-tier extended stay segment with close to 68 percent customer loyalty for its seven hotels across the United States - one of the highest scores within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio.  Currently, Home2 Suites has nine new hotels under construction, a strong development pipeline of more than 60 planned properties, and international expansion plans with its first Canada property signed and a Mexico property in the works.

Home2 Suites has been recognized by the industry for its innovative approach to the extended stay segment; noteworthy awards including four Travel Weekly Magellans.  Key Home2 brand elements include: multiple common areas and social spaces for guests like the Oasis and Go2Spot; sustainable practices including use of recycled flooring and carpet tiles, bulk bath amenities, dual flush toilets and ENERGY STAR appliances; unique multi-purpose public spaces such as the award-winning Spin2Cycle, a combination fitness/laundry facility; all-suite accommodations with kitchens and easy-to-move furniture; added-value amenities like complimentary continental breakfast and wireless internet access; and pet-friendly accommodations.

Home2 Suites also accomplished multiple milestones during its first year of opening including, the opening of its first silver LEED®-certified hotel in Lexington Park, Md., its first adaptive reuse property in Baltimore, Md., and a historic adaptive reuse location in San Antonio, Texas.  This month, the brand broke ground on its first dual build property, a joint venture with Hampton Inn & Suites in Huntsville, Ala. The 10th Home2 Suites hotel is expected to open by summer 2012.

To celebrate the anniversary, Home2 Suites also announces the expansion of its Your2 Hands community outreach initiative with the selection of the Mid-South Food Bank in Memphis, Tenn., a member of the Feeding America network, as its official corporate partner.  Your2 Hands has been an integral part of Home2 Suites since the brand's inception, and is executed on the local level at each property.  The initiative looks to help each hotel connect with the communities in which they are located on a deeper level, make the biggest impact and provide aid where it is most needed.
