Home2 Suites by Hilton® Commemorates Sixth Property Grand Opening Celebration in North Charleston, S.C.

Brand Announces Partnership with the Ronald McDonald House and Habitat for Humanity

MCLEAN, Va. - Home2 Suites by Hilton hosted the brand's sixth grand opening celebration at the North Charleston, South Carolina hotel today with an announcement of two charitable community partnerships, as well as a ribbon-cutting dedication and reception.  The hotel joins six other properties already officially open in Fayetteville, N.C., Layton, Utah, Baltimore, Md., West Valley City, Utah, San Antonio, Texas and Lexington Park, Md.

The property will partner with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston S.C. as part of Home2 Suite's Your2 Hands community initiative.  Additionally, the hotel will donate $1,000, which will aid the organization in continuing its mission of providing temporary lodging and support for families of seriously ill children.  Hotel staff will also volunteer at various events with the Ronald McDonald House as part of the ongoing partnership. 

Habitat for Humanity will also receive $1,000 through LBA Hospitality's ongoing partnership with the organization.  Candy bars will be sold in the Home2 MKT, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity.

To commemorate the grand opening, the property hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with Home2 Suites executives.  The ceremony was followed by a reception at the property, where guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and participated in guided tours of the hotel.  The celebration also included a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony with LBA Hospitality executives and representatives of the benefiting charities. 

The four-story, 122-suite hotel is located at 3401 West Montague Ave., just three miles from Charleston International Airport.  The hotel began construction in March 2011and was completed in less than eight months, welcoming its first guests November 10, 2011 as part of a soft opening. The North Charleston property is the first Home2 Suites in South Carolina.

The North Charleston property features an outdoor saline swimming pool and a scenic walking trail that winds around the property.  The property includes 80 king studio suites, 30 queen studio suites and eight one-bedroom king suites.  The hotel also offers easy access to technology and bright, inviting community spaces, as well as the trademark Home2 Suites amenities standard in all properties, such as the Oasis lobby area, the in-room working wall and "Inspired Table" complimentary breakfast.

Home2 Suites by Hilton has nearly 60 properties in the development pipeline, with eight properties currently under active construction in Jacksonville, N.C.; D'Iberville, Miss.; Nashville, Tenn.; Oxford, Ala.; Columbus, Ga.; Charlotte, N.C.; Jackson/Ridgeland, Miss.; and Frisco, Texas. Future properties are slated for many of the nation's major markets, including Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Denver. Home2 Suites is also approved for expansion into Canada and Mexico.
