Home2 Suites by Hilton® Opens New South Carolina Property

MCLEAN, Va. - Home2 Suites by Hilton, a mid-tier, all-suite hotel brand designed for modern business travelers and extended-stay guests, celebrated the opening of the brand's sixth U.S. hotel with a new North Charleston, S. C. hotel today. The property joins five other Home2 Suites already open in Fayetteville, N.C., Layton, Utah, Baltimore, Md., San Antonio, Texas and West Valley City, Utah. The hotel broke ground in March 2011, and is the second Home2 Suites hotel to be completed in less than eight months from the groundbreaking. The first guest to check in today received a welcome basket, which included an iPod nano.

"Charleston is a burgeoning market for the extended stay segment, with the many businesses, tourist attractions and military establishments located in the area," said Bill Duncan, global head, Home2 Suites by Hilton. The four-story, 122-suite hotel is located at 3401 West Montague Ave., just three miles from Charleston International Airport. The property includes 80 king studio suites, 30 queen studio suites and eight one-bedroom king suites. Nearby businesses include Verizon and Boeing, as well as the Charleston Air Force base, the Space & Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic and the Naval Weapons Station.

The hotel is minutes away from the region's major entertainment venues, shopping and medical institutions including the Charleston Area Convention Center Complex, Tanger Outlet Mall, the Medical University of South Carolina, The Citadel and historic Charleston.

The North Charleston property features an outdoor saline swimming pool and a scenic walking trail that winds around the property. The hotel also offers easy access to technology and bright, inviting community spaces, as well as the trademark Home2 Suites amenities standard in all properties, such as the Oasis lobby area, the in-room working wall and "Inspired Table" complimentary breakfast.

Home2 Suites by Hilton currently operates five hotels and has nearly 60 properties in its development pipeline. Eight properties are currently under active construction in Lexington Park, Md., D'Iberville, Miss., Nashville, Tenn., Frisco, Texas, Charlotte, N.C., Jacksonville, N.C. and Jackson/Ridgeland, Miss and Columbus, Georgia. Future properties are slated for many of the nation's major markets, including Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Denver. Home2 Suites is also approved for expansion into Canada and Mexico.
